Plastic & Rubber 2018 Exhibition

PT INTERA LESTARI POLIMER participated in the Plastic & Rubber 2018 exhibition to present to the general public its 2 key business units, namely Masterbatch Polymer Compound and Bio-based Polymers (ENVIPLAST products). The Masterbatch Polymer Compound product owned by PT Intera Lestari Polymers is widely known and recognised among players in the domestic plastic industry. At the event, ENVIPLAST products were exhibited in the form of bio-based vegetable-based pellets as well as blown film machines. This product is a result of the significant focus being given by the central government and various regional governments in Indonesia on the issue plastic waste pollution; specifically plastic bag waste which fails to decompose in landfills and thus gets carried to the sea and pollutes the ecosystem. It is our hope that at this event, our bio-based pellets and biodegradable bags will capture the full attention of bag producers and entrepreneurs who want to provide environmentally friendly bags for their customers. Through this, Indonesian consumers can get access to alternatives to single use plastic bags and choose to use bio-based bags instead. The widespread use of bio-based bags that are easily compostable on a large scale is possible with the support of central and regional governments by issuing legislation that prohibits the use of plastic bags so as to reduce plastic bag pollution significantly.
